ARD's long-standing Russia correspondent Gerd Ruge has agreed to introduce the film at its premiere in Cologne on 12 December. He is currently working on a book on the relations between Germany and the Soviet Union. During his time as a correspondent in Moscow he lived also on Rubljovka, and while talking on the phone to us, he recalled with great amusement and relish that in those days it was called the “Ho-Chi Minh trail”.

Director of photography Maxim Tarasjugin who lives in St. Petersburg, will try to come to Cologne for the premiere.

Together with his mother the young protagonist Roma Romanow will be present at the premiere in Cologne on 12 December and Berlin on 13 December. The super cool RADIOEINS film critic Knut Elstermann will support the event in Berlin.

On 25 June we celebrated the film's first release at the occasion of the international Filmfest in Munich. It was the only documentary to be sold out. The audience's reaction to the film was very lively. Among the audience were many Russian immigrants who appreciated in particular the protagonists with their bizarre and touching tales, as well as the authentic and sensitive portrayal of the people in the film. The screening was followed by a very emotional discussion and the audience paid their respect to Irene Langemann for having had the persistance to complete this social portrait of modern Russian society. A Russian film critic described the film as one of the best of the festival. Others praised the cut, the sound track, the photography, the rhythm and the light-handedness of the film.
